So we take the time to personally assess and analyze your body's unique functionality. From there, you meet our highly-skilled and certified instructors who are committed to see your outcome. We discover your strengths and limitations and formulate an individualized program specific to your goals.

Steve Vicera

For over 20 years, Steve has been helping people reach their goals for better function, greater fitness, and an overall sense of well being. His philosophy is concentrating on core strength and stabilization. This integrated training approach complements the body, making it more functional and improving its appearance. 

Steve's Pilates story begins after externally reaping the fruits of intense bodybuilding and power lifting. He was a champion in body building in 1989, earning titles in the “Super Body Fitness” and “Mr. Philippines” competitions in the 1990’s. However, internally his body was straining to keep up with me. One of his spinal vertebrae finally gave out and acquired a condition called Spondylolisthesis. It was the injury that made him realize he was going the wrong path. 

This was Steve's moment of clarity. He began to search for other methods of training that will not be detrimental to my health. He did research and discovered Pilates and began doing rehab on his back. It was the perfect choice. He realized that Pilates was filling the gap of years of strength training and bodybuilding that had left the main gap of core strength and spinal stabilization. He learned that Pilates integrates one's entire body as one. He went through the 500 hours of the STOTT PILATES® Instructor Training Program.

Steve founded Sommet Fitness in 2007 and his mission now is helping people who are suffering from back pain. He uses the Pilates methodology as an alternative from pain medications and surgery. 

Presently, Steve is a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor, specialized in spinal stabilization and corrective exercise. His main emphasis is on safety and function, with a specialization on back pain.

Michelle has made movement an essential part of her journey through wellness for over ten years. She started in her early twenties, committing regularly to weight training, kick boxing, running, spinning, and yoga. Through the discovery of Pilates she found a deeper connection to mind body wellness.

"In my experience, Pilates is an intelligent and well integrated form of exercise that can be tailored to every fitness level. From athletic conditioning, to post rehab training, or to improve posture. Everyone can benefit! It is a great way to be present in your body and breath."

Michelle is a STOTT PILATES® certified instructor trained in Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels, with experience working with injuries and special populations. She is currently pursuing a degree as a Mind Body Wellness Practitioner from SWIHA in Tempe, Arizona.

ZACH thompson

Zach Thompson is a native of Winnipeg, Canada. He first came to the United States to attend college and quickly discovered his passion for competitive athletics. From 2004 to 2008, he played on the varsity golf teams of the University of Portland and Scottsdale Community College. From 2008 to 2012, he competed at the amateur and professional  tournaments across North America. While competing, he completed his studies, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Communications from Nevada State University.

“Playing competitive golf has given me a unique insight into what the body needs if it is to perform at a high level. I know from experience what you need to put yourself through in order to achieve your goals.”

Since 2004, Zach has undergone a number of surgeries to repair injuries to his back and ankle. He has learned to live with chronic pain and learned firsthand the affect that it can have on the body and mind. His experience is living proof that training is essential for individuals recovering from injuries. Zach has developed a passion for helping others to achieve their performance goals, while working with some of the top personal trainers in the country and advising younger golfers about their fitness regimens,

Zach is certified in NASM-PT, NPTI-CPT, NPTI Nutrition, and CPR/AED.




Gina’s passion is health and education. She earned her Ph.D. in Nutrition from University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduate school, she founded a company to teach others about health. She started taking Pilates classes with her sister after witnessing her sister’s physical transformation. When Gina was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she started practicing Pilates for rehabilitation.

Vertigo, balance, muscle weakness, and fatigue were obstacles she overcame with Pilates. Her scientific education, desire to learn, and passion to help others has led her to focus her career on Pilates and Health Coaching.

Gina is a P.S.C. certified Pilates instructor, with training in Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel, Foam Roller, and Bosu Ball. She also has training in CoreAlign and Pilates for Neurological Conditions. As a health coach and Pilates teacher, she has helped people with chemo-related neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, spondylothesis, and weight loss with a goal to improve overall physical and mental health.
