We know that everyone isn't right for the same class. So we take the time to personally assess and analyze your body's unique functionality. From there, you meet our highly-skilled and certified instructors who are committed to see your outcome. We discover your strengths and limitations and formulate an individualized program specific to your goals.
Since 2006, we have successfully helped 500+ clients gain their fitness goals. They experience themselves at their very best, and we want them to pass it on to everyone around them.
For over 20 years, Steve has been helping people reach their goals for better function, greater fitness, and an overall sense of well being. His philosophy is concentrating on core strength and stabilization. This integrated training approach complements the body, making it more functional and improving its appearance.
Steve's Pilates story begins after externally reaping the fruits of intense bodybuilding and power lifting. He was a champion in body building in 1989, earning titles in the “Super Body Fitness” and “Mr. Philippines” competitions in the 1990’s. However, internally his body was straining to keep up with me. One of his spinal vertebrae finally gave out and acquired a condition called Spondylolisthesis. It was the injury that made him realize he was going the wrong path.
This was Steve's moment of clarity. He began to search for other methods of training that will not be detrimental to my health. He did research and discovered Pilates and began doing rehab on his back. It was the perfect choice. He realized that Pilates was filling the gap of years of strength training and bodybuilding that had left the main gap of core strength and spinal stabilization. He learned that Pilates integrates one's entire body as one. He went through the 500 hours of the STOTT PILATES® Instructor Training Program.
Steve founded Sommet Fitness in 2007 and his mission now is helping people who are suffering from back pain. He uses the Pilates methodology as an alternative from pain medications and surgery.
Presently, Steve is a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor, specialized in spinal stabilization and corrective exercise. His main emphasis is on safety and function, with a specialization on back pain.
Chandler grew up in Phoenix before moving to Los Angeles in 2009 to attend fashion school. From there she remained in the industry until 2015, when she left to become certified in Pilates. In 2011, at only 22 years old, she began to experience chronic pain as well as a myriad of other symptoms. After years of doctors, procedures and medication with no answers she began seeing a Naturopath and doing Pilates. The combination of the two had a significant effect on what she would learn were multiple autoimmune diseases. The life changing impact she felt from Pilates motivated her to leave the fashion world and strive to help others have a similar experience.
Nikou started her fitness journey at 13 years of age, weight training with her father while playing tennis, basketball, and dancing. At 19, Nikou was involved in a car accident that left her with a reverse curve in her cervical spine, and two C-curves in her thoracic and lumbar spine. On top of dealing with knee and shoulder problems from her sports background, her physical therapists advised that she incorporate Pilates and Yoga into her routine to help improve her stability and flexibility through alignment. For over a decade, Nikou has been practicing Pilates and Yoga which she credits to helping her live comfortably in her body, and allowing her to continue an activitiy-filled lifestyle.
"Pilates has helped me work through and improve my scoliosis, find balance in my knee joint allowing me to do squats and lunges again, as well as correct hip and shoulder alignment issues I had been living with since adolescence. Today, I dance, hike, rock climb, ice skate, run, weight train, take barre and cycling classes, do yoga and pilates. without suffering in pain or having to constantly seek modifications."
Her passion for health and wellness and desire to help others to meet and exceed their fitness goals, while strengthening their mind-body connection led her to selling her successful marketing company The Vantage Co and pursuing her career in the fitness and wellness industry. Nikou is a certified Integrative Wellness and Life Coach, Modern Yoga certified Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and P.S.C. certified Pilates Instructor with training in Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Ladder Barrel with experience working with post-rehab Major League Baseball players, pre and post-natal, herniated discs, scoliosis, thoracic outlet syndrome, precuts excavatum, knee and shoulder injuries, and other special populations.
Growing up in Wisconsin, Bre had an affinity for golf from the age of 4. She won her first tournament at 8 years old and continued to excel through high school where she was the Wisconsin Junior Player of the Year in 1994. After earning a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin, she played varsity golf for 4 years. After winning a couple of Wisconsin State Opens, she moved to the Phoenix area to pursue a career in professional golf. She played the Symetra Tour for 4 seasons and won 7 professional events. Her career highlights include competing in the 2000 US Women’s Open and playing Augusta National.
During that time, she ended up meeting her husband in Phoenix. She traveled with him on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour, caddying for him for multiple seasons. Now a mother of two kids, she has regained her amateur status and plans on playing several events each year. Golf has always been a big part of her life, so continuing to pursue a future in golf was always a goal.
Immediately after taking her first Pilates class, she was hooked – and then she realized something – it was a perfect fit to integrate her two passions, golf and Pilates. “Being able to help people not only become healthier, but to be able to make a difference in their golf games and prevent future injuries really excites me. I look forward to using my golf background and state-of- the-art training and technology to help others to get the most out of themselves – and have fun while doing it.”
